Principal’s message

Thank you for the music! What a treat last night to attend the Winter Concert, following months of disrupted and online instrumental lessons and outdoor school rehearsals (which have brightened up the courtyard over the past two years but probably froze the fingers!) It has certainly been a journey we could not have predicted. But our pupils and staff have not been deterred and last night, no masks could hide the smiles or silence the cheers from an appreciative audience as we remembered again what we have missed and enjoyed seeing the pupils so happy to be singing and playing for us.

The performing arts are alive and well at GSAL, with more to come before the end of term; from the primary music concert to the nativity plays, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, to Nine Lessons and Carols. Watching children play and perform is a family and school highlight in any year, bringing light into the darkness.

And very special this weekend for our Jewish families is the start of Chanukah; we send our warmest wishes to all those families celebrating this light-filled festival.

Sue Woodroofe
Principal
