Friday 24 September 2010 Members of the GSAL Islamic Society celebrated Eid at the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. Student Head of Islamic Faith, Adnan Memon said, “At Eid we enjoy getting together, have a big feast and have fun.” Many members of the school joined in the celebration including the student Head of Christian faith Ayanda Kweyama who said, “It was a good chance to learn about the Muslim community in GSAL .” Eid is an Arabic word meaning festivity. It is also a time to think about other people around the world who do not have enough food.
