Wednesday 7 December 2022 Saturday 3 December saw the 41st English Schools Athletic Association (ESAA) Cross Country National Cup Final hosted at The Grammar School at Leeds. Over 100 schools came from all over the country to compete, with thousands of spectators cheering on the young athletes. The runners rose to the challenge of an undulating course that weaved around the school’s playing fields and woodland paths. Guests of honour included former ESAA chairperson and Leeds Girls’ High School alumna, Jill Wright (OG55) and Olympic triathlon gold medallist Jess Learmonth, who awarded prizes to the winners and had inspirational messages for every competitor.
