The Grammar School at Leeds is delighted to be hosting the Teaching and Learning Leeds Conference, taking place on Saturday 24 June.

Teachers of EYFS, primary and secondary stages are all welcome to attend TLLeeds23 which will be the sixth conference we have run for teachers from Yorkshire and beyond. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Teaching the Future’. There will be two keynote talks in addition to a fantastic choice of workshops and time to network with colleagues over lunch.

Plan your day

This year’s conference will be opened by keynote speaker, Abdul Chohan, Vice President of Learning at Showbie Inc. Abdul’s keynote is The DNA of Learning during which he outline the foundational approaches to developing a consistently good learning environment. Abdul is a former senior leader, Principal and CEO of a multi-academy trust and co-founder and chair of a free school in Bolton. Now Abdul is an award-winning learning technology consultant pioneering the embedded use of learning technologies for students and teachers alike. Apple refers to Abdul as ‘one of the most innovative educators in the world’.

Our conference will be closed by keynote speaker, Jaspreet Kaur, educator, poet and author of ‘Brown Girl Like Me’ and started her career as a secondary school teacher. During her keynote, The Power of Sharing our Stories, Jaspreet will be unpacking the importance of both students and educators having the opportunity to share their own stories in and outside of the classroom. Supported by findings from the Arts and Wellbeing Foundation and research from Jaspreet’s debut book, Brown Girl Like Me, delegates will discover how the power of sharing one’s story through creative outlets can provide opportunities for learning, confidence building, curiosity, empathy and connection.

Choosing workshops

We will be in touch from April onwards with the timetable from which to select your sessions.

Delegates will be able to choose workshops from a range of categories including leadership, teaching and learning, technology, primary, EYFS and teaching the individual.
