Food technology pupils at GSAL show off their biscuit decorating skills before taking their edible Pudsey Bear on a tour of the school.
Pupils and staff were asked to pay 50p each in aid of Children in Need to guess the weight of the biscuit. The winner – Will Jones of Y8 – took the delicious bear home after guessing correctly that Pudsey weighed 2.458kg!
The Pudsey Bear biscuit was made by food technology teacher Lesley Madden using 1.4 kg of plain flour, 800 grams of butter and 400 grams of caster sugar. It was baked in the school’s kitchens before being decorated by Y7 pupils.
Pictured with the giant Pudsey Bear biscuit are (L-R) Frankie Haywood, Eden Ottman, Jessica Patel and Harriet Grubb.
Other Children in Need activities at GSAL on Friday included pupils from both Junior School and Rose Court pre-prep in Headingley, dressing up in spotty clothes. Rose Court pupils also held a non-stop sing-a-long at lunch time and filled a large outline of Pudsey with pound coins.
