Inspirational facilities

Creating every opportunity to excel

“We know that excellent facilities bring more opportunities and inspire our pupils to achieve great things. The Grammar School at Leeds invests in creating the right environment, equipment and expertise for a variety of pursuits from music to CCF, drama to Duke Of Edinburgh as well as a wide range of sporting facilities, including a 3G pitch. From the moment children start with us in Nursery through to when they leave at 18, we provide an abundance of purpose-built facilities that inspire pupils academically, creatively and physically.”

Primary School

Our Primary School has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and extension programme to accommodate our younger pupils who relocated from the Rose Court campus in 2020. All our primary classrooms are light and inspiring, with room to change layouts and areas to learn together in smaller groups. Each year group is arranged together to provide a warm, family atmosphere with a sense of belonging. There are specialist well-equipped areas including two science rooms and separate drama and music studios. We also have two libraries, a large gymnasium and self-contained Nursery area. These are complemented by the outdoor amenities which include extensive playing fields and playgrounds for each year group with age-appropriate equipment. Pupils also have access to the superb senior school facilities which include a swimming pool, astro-turf and various other sports courts and pitches.

Senior School

We are exceptionally proud of the facilities throughout The Grammar School at Leeds and Senior School provides the icing on the cake. Our modern teaching facilities provide every student with the opportunity and environment to excel. Facilities include an extensively equipped multimedia library, ICT and intranet resources, science and language laboratories, art and design studios, and food technology areas.

The focus isn’t exclusively academic as we give equal importance to sports and the arts. Our outstanding facilities and resources extend to support a diverse and full programme of sporting, recreational, musical and artistic activities. We continue to invest heavily in these areas and we are currently in the process of introducing one to one devices and have built a state of the art 3G pitch to enhance our sports provision.

The Sixth Form Centre

Understandably, things are a little different in the Sixth Form at GSAL. It’s now that students are actively encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning and lifestyle, balancing their academic work, co-curricular activities and recreation. This responsibility inspires our students, builds maturity and makes them more rounded. They genuinely enjoy their new independence and the trust we place in them.

In addition to the Senior School’s excellent facilities, students also have access to their own large common room with café facilities and garden, and their own separate work space and ICT suite. These are open before and after normal school hours to provide flexibility in study and recreation.

Hire our facilities

The facilities at GSAL are available for hire for all types of events from conferences and concerts to dinner dances and receptions. Our land is available to hire for marquee events in addition to our impressive assembly hall, refectory, theatre and conference rooms. We also have multiple sporting facilities including a sports hall, swimming pool, squash courts and newly installed 3G pitch!
