Wednesday 9 November 2022 Cadet Colour Sergeant Flossie, a member of GSAL’s Combined Cadet Force, recently received one of the highest honours any cadet can achieve, having been appointed as one of only three Lord-Lieutenant Cadets for West Yorkshire. Each of the cadets represent their respective section of the armed forces, with Flossie taking the role for the Combined Cadet Force (CCF). Sixth former, Flossie, joined the cadets when she was 13 and has taken part in a number of exciting activities and opportunities, including kayaking in Scotland, rock-climbing in Wales, and is soon to head off to Germany skiing. Lord Lieutenant cadets are amongst the best in their county and will have completed most of their training syllabus, as well as taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme. During her role, Flossie will be given the chance to assist the Lord Lieutenant at civic and military occasions, including the chance to attend Royal Visits. She said: “The cadets have given me a lifetime worth of adventures and I hope all these experiences will help me throughout the rest of my cadet and adult career.” General Senior School Sixth Form News Whole School
