Transition to reception

A gentle transition

With the school’s experience of teaching children aged 3 through to 18, we excel at helping each child succeed as they progress to the next stage of learning.

Our nursery and reception teachers work closely together so each child is well equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.

“Rose Court Nursery really encouraged my son to strive for independence, which, in turn, helped me to appreciate how much he was capable of. ‘Mummy, I can do it!’ became a mantra for a while at home.

The transition is also eased by our young learners’ familiarity with the primary school campus. Our trips to the library and music room, and our lunchtimes in our dedicated Nursery – Year 2 dining room, helps everyone feel happy and secure in their surroundings.

Our thoughtful, well-rounded approach helps children, and their families, feel assured and excited about their well-planned progression to reception.

“Our nursery children settle very well when they move into their reception classes; they are respectful, kind, polite and show independence beyond their years. They are ready, not just to learn, but to make friendships and bonds which last them a lifetime.”
