Wednesday 7 December 2011 A team of table tennis enthusiasts at GSAL have won the Leeds North West schools competition, beating Benton Park (8-0) and Horsforth School (5-3) en route. The youngsters, Ben Roberts and Nick Brown of Y8 and Alex Rode and Pablo de Pablo of Y7, now go through to the regional finals in January. Table tennis is a new venture in the school and a team of 12 from Y7, 8 and 9 has also taken part in a match against Bradford Grammar School which they narrowly lost 16-14. With more matches coming up, and Junior School talent Shayan Siraj, joining the Senior School players, the future is looking bright.
