Radical Candour
Who is it for
All those working in education today who have an interest in improving working relationships and environments in the pursuit of helping learners achieve their best possible outcomes. Middle and senior leaders.
Brief synopsis of workshop:
This workshop will provide an interactive beginner’s guide to Kim Scott’s ‘radical’ method for achieving a genuine love for your work and strong, successful professional relationships with those you work with in schools as a result of establishing and requiring a feedback-first culture.
What if we all cared about each other personally and all challenged each other directly?
What if candour was cherished?
What if manipulative insincerity, ruinous empathy and obnoxious aggression were banished from the teams we are part of and those we lead?
What if ‘Radical Candour’ was the answer? Based on her own personal experience and success at Google, Apple and various startups, Scott’s method involves every colleague in every team in every position being kind and being clear – relentlessly, unflinchingly, ALWAYS. It takes work and it doesn’t happen overnight. It has the power to revolutionise the way we work together in education
What you will get out of it:
- Time and space to reflect with guidance on their own current leadership practice and experience of leadership
- An understanding of the philosophy and key fundamentals of ‘Radical Candour’
- Practical strategies for embedding, requiring and maintaining the method in their own teams and schools
