Brief synopsis of workshop:
Metacognition is ‘high impact for very low cost, based on extensive evidence’ (EEF Toolkit). But to teach metacognitively has nothing to do with worksheets, exit tickets or tick-boxes. This workshop will explore the ways in which metacognitive questioning and a foundational understanding of cognitive science can frame teaching practice, with a focus on giving meaningful feedback.
What you will get out of it:
Practical, no-fuss, evidence informed strategies which they can implement on Monday.
