Nicholas Allen

Nicholas is a barrister and joint head of chambers at 29 Bedford Row (London) specialising in financial remedy work. He is also a door tenant at St. Ives Chambers (Birmingham). Nicholas was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2018, Deputy High Court Judge in 2021 and was assigned to the Family Division (previously Recorder of the Family Court from 2016). He is the nominated Judge of the Court of Protection, Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and is IFLA-trained finance arbitrator and regular private tribunal.

Nicholas is a regular lecturer including full-time and fee-paid judges at the Judicial College, editor of the family law chapters of Foskett on Compromise (Ninth Edition, 2019). He is also a member of the editorial board of the Financial Remedies Journal (published by Class Legal), member of the JUSTICE Working Party ‘Improving Access to Justice for Separating Families’. Nicholas is also co-chair of the Bar Council’s Services Appointment Panel and a trained collaborative lawyer and member of the Collaborative Family Law Group West Midlands. Nicholas is a trustee of FreeBar, a network promoting LGBT+ equality and inclusion across the Bar. He is also a qualified attorney & counsellor at Law, New York. Nicholas studied Law at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School in the US.

Abbie Keech

Abbie Keech started working at Oakwood Solicitors in 2004 as a Paralegal in the Road Traffic Accident department. Abbie became Head of the department in 2010, becoming a Director and a Solicitor at the same time. She then went on to lead the Clinical Negligence, Employment and Psychological Injury departments. She took over as Managing Director in July 2015 and has since grown the company into a multi-service firm. Abbie originally studied Medical Microbiology at Newcastle University before undertaking the GDL and LPC and moving on to being a Solicitor.
