Brief synopsis of workshop:
Drawing upon tried and tested tools from the classroom and the home, Louise explains how to get the best out of a child with ADHD.
With twenty-two years of teaching experience, a sixteen-year-old son with ADD and a nineteen-year-old daughter with suspected ADHD, Louise has developed a passion and a range of successful strategies to identify and liberate children with ADHD.
What you will get out of it:
By breaking down the reasons for certain behaviour and dispelling common beliefs, Louise will give a background to the disorder and provide a range of useful tips and practical tools to best support pupils with ADHD.
Profile of facilitator:
With over 22 years of experience, Louise holds the position of Head of English at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Blackburn, teaching pupils aged 11-18. Previously, Louise taught English in four different high schools in the North West of England. Louise also held the post of Gifted and Talented Coordinator for two years before becoming a Head of Faculty in 2017. Louise has two children, with her son (Charlie) spurring her on to dispel the ADHD myths, after he was diagnosed aged 7.
