Profile of panelists
Rory Smith
Rory is the chief football correspondent of The New York Times, based in Britain. He covers all aspects of European soccer, from the glamour of the Champions League to the reality of life away from the spotlight. He has reported from three World Cups, the Olympics, and numerous European tournaments. In 2015 he was highly commended by the Sports Journalists’ Association. He was nominated for writer of the year at the 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 Football Supporters Federation Awards, winning in 2015 and 2019.
Magnus Brooke
Magnus has group wide responsibility for setting and delivering ITV’s policy and regulatory strategy as a member of the ITV plc management board, reporting to the group chief executive, Dame Carolyn McCall. ITV is one of Europe’s largest commercial TV producers as well as one of the largest broadcasters and VOD providers. Magnus’ job involves extensive interaction with business and political leaders, including ministers and European commissioners, senior civil servants, regulators (particularly Ofcom and the CMA), MPs/MEPs as well as regular appearances in front of Nations, UK and EU parliamentary select committees. He is a director of a number of ITV group and joint venture companies and industry bodies and has extensive experience of commercial negotiation. Magnus studied Social and Political Science and History at the University of Cambridge.

Jane is a freelance celebrity journalist with bylines at the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, Daily Express, HELLO! Magazine, Closer and many more.
