Brief synopsis of workshop:
How do you create a curriculum that combats entrenched inequity and inequality? This seminar supports curriculum makers to consider design experiences for young people to flourish in thriving communities. It shares practically how to design a curriculum so that it is driven by the local context and school community.
It does this by:
– sharing the process of how a curriculum framework has been designed at Trust level to support leaders to make key decisions for their own localised curriculum
– draws upon insights from the recently published book Creating change in Urban settings based on work carried out in an inner-city school in Leeds working with the whole community to lead positive sustained change.
What you will get out of it:
Opportunity to step back and reflect on your own curriculum design.
Consider why certain choices have been made and be able to articulate clearly and confidently how these choices lead to a quality curriculum.
