Profile of panelists
Clinton Lau
Clinton is a Research Scientist with extensive experience in structural biology, biophysics, biochemistry and bioinformatics (many bioskills). He is urrently working to understand how the malarial cytoskeleton organises the parasite cell. Postdoc experience investigating how the mighty microtubule motor dynein is activated by its activating proteins dynactin and cargo adaptors.
Helen Jordan
Helen is a final year PhD student at the University of Leicester, using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry to investigate the metabolomic profile of heart failure. Her PhD is funded by the Medical Research Council and Shimadzu. She is currently working on LC-MS method development for a potential prognostic biomarker and applying this developed method to a cohort of 700 patients from Glenfield Hospital
Harin Wijayathunga
Harin, a former head of school at GSAL, studied Medicine at the University of Edinburgh after leaving school in 2018. He then intercalated in neuroscience, under the supervision of Professor Richard Morris (a very eminent neuroscientist working in the field of learning and memory), and graduated with a first class degree in neuroscience last year.
