Profile of panelists
Kate Downie
Kate (GSAL14) graduated from the University of Edinburgh with awards for orthopaedic surgery and large animal medicine. Now she is the head veterinary surgeon at Parkhill Veterinary Services in Wetherby, helping animals from hamsters to horses.
James Poulter
James (OL05) leads the molecular neuroscience and disease modelling group at the University of Leeds. He had studied forensic science at the University of Lincoln and then received his PhD in human/medical genetics from the University of Leeds.
Sam Gregson
Sam (OL02) received his undergraduate and PhD in physics at the University of Cambridge and a PhD from CERN in Switzerland. Sam is a physicist, science communicator, commentator and comedian.
Jennifer Shaw
After leaving GSAL in 2014, Jennifer attended University of Cambridge. She currently is a team leader at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
