Skills workshop – The Golden Thread to Your Future Career Success

In this session, GSAL governor Bev Ashby and her colleague Justine Mooney will be discussing the employability skills everyone needs. In this session, students will:

  1. Learn about the 6 key skills for career success
  2. Identify and be able to talk about their strengths with confidence

This is an interactive workshop with key takeaways that students can reference later.

Profiles of Facilitators

Bev Ashby
Bev is an experienced HR director, executive coach and mediator.  She worked in both the NHS and private healthcare sectors at board level.  Having set up her own consulting business 10 years ago she worked across a wide variety of sectors supporting many clients facing redundancy and career changes.  She has worked with students across several schools providing careers advice and guidance on a voluntary basis. Bev is currently chair of governors at Willow Tree primary school Harrogate, a Member of the Board of Norther Star Academies Trust and a governor at GSAL.

Justine Mooney
Justine is a HR leadership consultant and coach. She has worked across a wide variety of sectors including Financial Services, Healthcare, Engineering and Education. Her focus is always on helping people to have the best career they can have and helping organisations to develop the talented people in their employ. Her HR career began in Recruitment, she has worked in-house and in agency recruitment roles and has led Recruitment teams. This means that she has seen thousands of CVs, interviewed thousands of people for roles, and now uses this experience to help others develop the skills they need so that they can have the careers they want and deserve.
