GSAL Business Networking Group Event: Andy McMenemy

Wednesday 14 May 2014

There are many excellent speakers on business and many who can talk sport. Andy McMenemy can truly combine the two, based on his own personal experience, and we are delighted to welcome him to speak to the GSAL Business Networking Group.

In 2011 Andy set out to complete a world record bid with an epic challenge – to run 66 ultra-marathons in 66 consecutive days in the 66 official cities of the UK, raising money for ABF The Soldiers Charity (formerly the Army Benevolent Fund). He displayed incredible resilience and focused determination to carry on running whilst battling injury – and succeeded against the odds. Andy was chosen to carry the Olympic torch in the run up to London 2012.

Andy has worked in senior management roles in the motor industry for organisations with turnovers of £1.3billion and £500million. He is committed to embracing challenges and constantly pushing beyond his own comfort zones in business and in his personal life.

He says: “I’m not one to accept the status quo or to stand still. But I’m also keen to share my passion and drive. It’s my mission to use my experiences to help people develop their confidence and develop a winning attitude. I challenge them to identify self-imposed limits, inspiring them to overcome obstacles on the way to delivering outstanding performance.”
