Barry Cryer, the school’s funniest old boy, was delighted to receive a memento of his days at Leeds Grammar School when he was special guest at the Leeds Luminaries 2018 awards.
The writer and performer was presented with a framed set of his report cards, school tie and a review of one of his school performances at the gala dinner and awards ceremony.
During the evening he presented the awards to the seven winners and amused guests with an after dinner speech in which he reminisced about his school days and early career.
He said: “This has been a wonderful evening. I have so many fond memories of my time at Leeds Grammar School and being here tonight has been really quite emotional.”
